With the details noticeable, i feel Nokia quite
mean trade with the brand new Android phone. For
all Nokia fans available in the market, it is a first-rate information for
you.

In the meantime, it has been settled that the company will
indeed go back to manufacturing smartphones … but it’s a bit
more complicated than than. Check out our Nokia Back
To Smartphones: The Night Of The Living Dead? article
for more details

While Nokia did release a handful of Android-powered
devices already, the experience they deliver is not even
close to what a pure Android device would offer. These
low-end terminals – like the Nokia X and XL – run on
heavily forked / modified versions of Android, and not in a
sense of simple customization.

However, earlier this year there have been some leaks
suggesting that Nokia might release a new higher-end
smartphone with a more close-to-vanilla Android OS. A
so-called “Nokia 1100” was spotted in the Geekbench
database too, but while it was listed as an Android 5.0
device, the specifications were not that impressive. On the
other hand, there have also been rumors of a so-called
“Nokia C1” higher-end smartphone, and more to the point
at hand, today we came across a series of renders that
might depict the phone’s final design.

Tecno Camon C8 Hands- on Review: Complete phone Specification and pricing

Tecno Camon C8 Hands- on Review: Complete phone Specification and pricing

For about ten days, A friend of mine have owned the new
Tecno Camon C8 and it has been an
amazing Smartphone. We unboxed the
device last week and there’s a video on
that in this article . Tecno Camon C8’s
major selling point is the camera and
we actually tested this. More on that
later as we go deeper into the review.

image

We may tend to center of our  attention particularly on
the digital camera afterward within the article as this
is the foremost selling factor of this gadget.

First Impressions

In the event you maintain this phone for the primary time,
the first thing you notice is that it feels
light for a 5.5³ gadget. I doesn't consider
bulky not like different instruments of the equal
reveal dimension out there correct now.
Once more, the design is precise and doesn't
seem like every other device round. I
is also fallacious although and i stand to be
corrected.

Pros & Cons

Tecno
Camon C8 has a better battery with
3000mAh capacity. Tecno Camon C8 is
well designed and looks like a premium
device. Android L plays well with a 64-
bit processor and phone performs well
despite sporting only a 1.3Ghz quad-
core processor. The camera also
produces bright pictures that still retain
quality when zoomed to a reasonable
extent.

What’s not so good: The 1GB RAM on
the phone puts a limit to how you
multitask. You’re limited to 1GB of RAM
capacity. However, this doesn’t imply
that the phone is slow in anyway.

FAST AND Quick Specifications

Before going into the review proper,
you might be interested in the quick
specifications.

ROM: 16GB
RAM: 1GB
Display: 5″
Resolution: 720×1280
Micro SD: up to 32GB
OS: Android 5.0 Lollipop
Camera: 13MP primary, 5MP
secondary
Battery: 3000mAh
Processor: 1.3GHz quad

Design & Physical
Appearance

Tecno Camon C8 is superbly
designed and for a Tablet, it doesn't
think too heavy. I for my part love the
design and just about the whole thing about it.
The gadget has a 5.5³ Screen with
softkeys positioned beneath the reveal. The
entrance digital camera is on the top-left with the
LED flash and light sensor positioned
beside it.
image

The silver colored frame adds to the
overall beauty of the device. At first
glance, it looks like metal but it’s
actually plastic.The home button and
softkeys are backlit with white LED
light. The home button also lights up
and blinks when there’s a notification.

Bezels are getting thinner on
smartphones and the general norm is
that wide bezels are unappealing. The
bezel on this device is minimal, it’s not
particularly thin but very moderate.

The back cover is removable but the
battery isn’t. The back cover has a
leather grain texture and looks similar
to that on the Phantom Z .
image

When you're any one who has on no account used
a cell with a committed digital camera
button, you may in finding yourself
mistakenly pressing the one on the
slash correct side of the Phone.

image

This button makes it less complicated taking
snap shots and selfies with one hand. It's
even less difficult if you're looking to take a
selfie with the back camera. The vigour
button can be on the higher a part of the
correct side.
image

Again Back camera has a dual flash that
enhances taking portraits at the hours of darkness.
There's a snapshot proven later within the
publish taken in pitch darkness. The 13MP
digicam isn't simply built-in with the
rest of the back duvet to combo in, it's
intentionally designed to stand out.

image

The removed back cover shows the
3000mAh battery, two sim slots (mini &
micro) and a SD card slot.
image

THE Display
The device has a 5.5″ HD screen with a
resolution of 720×1280 and the display
looks great. Images appear crystal clear
and the display is enhanced by
MiraVision engine.

Camera & Picture Quality

Tecno Camon C8 is a digicam telephone and
of course, I was once ready to take some
breathtaking graphics with superb
exceptional. The snap shots taken nonetheless
hold the quality and don't rapidly
get blurry when zoomed in. The colours
look almost normal and this under was once
taken in wide daylight on a alternatively
cloudy day.
image

Also, the pictures in the gallery below
were taken during the day. The fixed
aperture is f/2.8 but the shutter speed
varies. Click on any of them for a larger
image opened in lightbox.

And here’s one taken in pitch darkness
around 11pm:

Low Light Photography
Challenge: Tecno Camon C8
vs Huawei Honor 6 Plus

Given that the only source of light was
the dual flash, the digital camera produced a
just right photo. Nevertheless, I used to be anticipating
to see a night time mode to further open up
the aperture and gradual down the shutter
pace much more with the intention to take photos
with out the flash. This could've been
superb for low gentle photography when
you pick not to use the LED flash. I
tried this and wasn't too eager about
the effect:

image

And here is another picture taken with
Huawei Honor 6 Plus from the same
point right about the same time:
image

As you will find, the second photo taken
with Honor 6 Plus is extra precise. It
used to be taken under the equal lighting
condition with out a further camera settings.
Anyway, each instruments aren't within the
same cost variety and we shouldn't
even be evaluating them, we are most effective
doing some benchmarking right here.

For a phone that costs around 20,000
NGN, the camera isn’t bad. With the
dual flash enabled, it can take some
pretty nice photos in the dark: I mean
in pitch darkness without a single ray
of light. Indoors with no flash, however,
the picture appeared noisy when the
lighting condition is rather poor.

The digicam has distinctive modes for
capturing snap shots. It helps excessive
Dynamic Imaging (HDR) which
enhances your photographs when used at
the proper time. There's Face magnificence
mode for boosting faces in graphics,
Panorama mode for taking a photograph
covering a wide angle at the same time slowly
moving the digicam & PIP mode that
makes use of the rear and entrance digicam to
produce a mixed image.

The 5MP front camera too is flash
enabled and allows you take pictures
even in the dark. I took a shot in broad
daylight outdoors and the produced
image look a bit too sharp though.
Anyway, I’m not a selfie freak, I was
more interested in the primary camera
which performed well.

Software, Hardware &
Performance

Tecno Camon C8 runs a customized
version of Android Lollipop 5.0 (64-bit)
but I’m assuming there’s a planned
upgrade to Android 5.1. The UI is a
customized and looks pretty good.
image

Google apps are pre-installed and there
are others like Facebook, Opera Mini,
UC Mini, DU Speed Booster and more.
image

The phone responds to touch and
there’s no noticeable lag when
navigating the phone. Tecno Camon C8
has a 1.3GHz 64-bit quad-core
processor. Theoretically, 64-bit
processors are faster and more efficient
than 32-bit processors and the ART
runtime now enabled on Lollipop
makes it all better.

Memory
There’s a 16GB ROM out of which the
OS takes about 5GB leaving a little over
about 10GB left. That’s not really a
problem as there’s a slot for external
memory supporting up to 32GB SD
card.

The phone has a 1GB random access
memory. It’s sufficient but in this age,
huge specs sound magical and a lot of
people are of the opinion that the
phone should’ve come with a 2GB RAM
capacity.

Multimedia

Tecno Camon C8 also has the new
proprietary music software found on
Tecno Boom J7 , Boom Player. I tried
comparing the sound quality of the
speaker with that of Tecno Phantom Z
and I was amazed. It sounded way
better than Tecno Phantom Z and the
quality was good.

I should mention that I dislike the
speaker placement though. It’s at the
back of the device and this impairs that
quality sound when playing music and
the phone is lying on its back.

Battery

The non-removable battery has a
capacity of 3000mAh that’s more than
enough. I was able to use it for two
days without charging but I must
mention that I didn’t put the phone
through much heavy use and I did some
optimizations here and there. Mobile
data was always turned off when not in
use and I always killed background
applications.
You can exhaust a 3000mAh battery in a
day. We all have different use pattern
when it comes to mobile phones.
The battery saving mode can get you
going for hours with only 20% of
battery left.

Connectivity

Tecno Camon C8 is 3G enabled and can
also connect to the Internet through
WiFi. You can also use your phone as a
WiFi hotspot and share your internet
connection.
For file transfer, it’s bluetooth enabled
and you can as well transfer files via
with other HotKnot enabled MediaTek
devices.

Price
At the moment, the phone isn’t yet
available in stores but the information I
got directly from tecno Mobile suggests
the price should be a little bit over
20,000 NGN

BUY IT NOW FROM KONGA

Verdict

Is this a phone I would recommend?
The short answer to that is “Yes”. The
battery is a big plus and that fact that
it’s not just another Kitkat phone makes
it better. The sleek design makes it look
like a high-end device plus the camera
gives some great shots in daylight. If
there’s anything missing in the phone,
it’s a night mode feature to shoot
pictures without the need to use LED
flash.

However, the price tag puts it in an
interesting position as there are devices
in the market within the same price
range offering higher specifications. But
for anyone who wants a phablet that
can capture good pictures and who
considers that top priority, Tecno
Camon C8 is a multimedia phone and
it’s your best bargain in this price
range.
Apple may finally
release 12.9-inch
iPad Pro with Force
Touch stylus this year

Apple may finally release 12.9-inch iPad Pro with Force Touch stylus this year

Apple may finally release 12.9-inch iPad Pro with Force Touch stylus this year

Apple has been rumored to have a bigger iPad in the
works for years, however this will finally be the year it
comes out. Sources record that Apple's annual iPad
refresh will incorporate a 12.9-inch iPad pro variant. This
king-sized tablet could have a better resolution display
and may also present an non-compulsory stylus with Apple force
contact technological know-how.

Apple has already built Force Touch technology (which
can tell the difference between a tap and a harder
press) into its new MacBook computers, so its inclusion
in the iPad and iPhone seems natural. However,
analysts believe that a screen the size of the iPad Pro
would result in poor yield rates with Force Touch.
Thus, the stylus might be required to take advantage of
it. This would allow users to write more easily with
pressure sensitivity, which is already possible with
certain third-party apps and styluses, but this would be
incorporated at the system level.

More generally, this tablet could have an LCD panel
with a resolution of 2732×2048 and an aluminum body
composed of the 7000 series alloy from the Apple
Watch. This tablet is expected to go into production
between September and October, but the stylus may not
be part of the base package. So get ready for that $49
add-on item in the Apple Store.

The iPad and iPad Mini have both confirmed vastly
successful for Apple however it's unclear what the marketplace for
a good higher and no more transportable tablet shall be. Analysts
from KGI Securities estimate Apple could move as
many as 5.5 million iPad professional units and one million
stylus components in the first 12 months. Despite the fact that, analyst
numbers are nonetheless simply educated guesses. We'll just ought to
wait and spot how lengthy the traces are.
Google Have Now Pushed Android One To Africa

Google Have Now Pushed Android One To Africa

Google Have Now Pushed Android One To Africa

google pushes android

Google is ramping up its

Android One

affordable
smartphone program with a push into Africa. The first
Android One smartphone for the region is being made by
OEM Infinix, and is launching in Nigeria today, with
Egypt, Ghana, Ivory Coast, Kenya and Morocco getting
the device “over the next few weeks”.

The handset, called the Infinix HOT 2 (pictured below),
runs Android 5.1 (Lollipop) at launch, but Google says it
will be getting the new Android Marshmallow flavor once
that’s released. Users will also get free updates via local
mobile service provider MTN — as Google works to
simplify (and squeeze) regional data plans to make the device
more attractive to its target. The device has an RRP of
N17,500 (~$88).

Specs wise, there’s a quad-core MediaTek processor with
1GB of RAM, and models with up to 2GB of memory.
There’s also support for dual SIM, and a range of colors:
black, white, red, blue, and gold. Yes, gold. Android One
is not skimping on the bling.

As part of the program, Google works to reduce
smartphone hardware costs by identifying components that
will be used and pre-qualifying suppliers for the parts. On
the software side it gives OEMs access to its Play Store
to help them add locally relevant apps to the devices, as
well as automating software updates as it does with Nexus
devices.

The wider push here is of course a landgrab by Google for
the next wave of mobile Internet users — those much
discussed “next billions”, who may live in areas with patchy
connectivity or be priced out of unlimited mobile data plans.
Hence the need to squeeze costs to lower the barrier to
entry. (Facebook has a similar and parallel push around
spreading access to connectivity with its Internet.org
initiative — albeit that’s come under fire for limiting the
services users can access).
In a blog post announcing its Android One Africa push,
Google VP of product management, Caesar
Sengupta, said:

Nearly one year ago, Google introduced
the Android One program and YouTube
Offline in India. Today, 6 countries in
Africa — with combined populations of
379 million people — join the list of
places where Android One phones are
sold. We’ve been thrilled by the progress
and feel humbled by the work that’s left
to do. But we look forward to continuing
our work with partners to ensure that
people have a great way to access the
Internet, using it in ways that are relevant
and useful.

Google launched the Android One affordability push last
summer , targeting OEMs specifically making phones for
emerging markets — and targeting the “next five billion ”
smartphone users in a bid to continue expanding Android’s
marketshare (which generally hovers around 80 per cent
marketshare globally).

The first Android One smartphone launched in India in
September 2014, with three more Asian markets
(Bangladesh, Nepal and Sri Lanka) offering devices by
December. OEMs making Android One devices there
include Micromax, Karbonn and Spice.
For its Africa Android One push, Google says it will also
be extending YouTube offline to Nigeria, Kenya, Ghana,
and Egypt “in the coming months”. The feature lets users
store videos within the YouTube app for up to 48 hours so
they can watch them later when they don’t have a
connection, or when the network they can access is too slow
to stream.

Google also announced it’s rolling out a streamlined version
of Google Search, tweaked for a faster experience on low
RAM phones — such as those with 512MB — claiming
the feature can reduce data usage on the results page by up
to 90 per cent, and cutting load times by up to a third.

Other mobile players chasing emerging markets include
China’s Android OEM Xiaomi, which does use Google
services outside China, and is currently a little more
focused on the mid tier and higher tier
smartphone segments, although pricing its handsets very
competitively.

There’s also the wildcard of Finland’s Jolla , which is now
fully focused on a licensing business for its alternative mobile
platform, Sailfish, an OS which is compatible with
Android apps. This summer the company announced it had
secured its first licensing deal with Indian OEM Intex.
The forthcoming Sailfish-powered handset, the Intex Aqua
Fish, is being priced at less than Rs 10,000 ($150).

New Tecno smartphone Camon C8 : First Tecno Phone with Dual LED Flash plus 13.0MP Back camera

New Tecno smartphone Camon C8 : First Tecno Phone with Dual LED Flash plus 13.0MP Back camera

The closest Tecno had come to giving its fans ultra
powerful camera on a smart phone is with the Tecno
R7; but the R7 lacked dual flash- something an
upcoming Tecno phone nicknamed "Camon C8" has improved on with a 13MP Back camera and flash,
also 5.0MP Front camera and flash.

The soon to be released Tecno C8 smart phone has a
camera system that produces excellent images and
according to Tecno, the smartphone has enough flash
power to take pictures in the dark with powerful F2.0
aperture lens that gives the resultant image a crisp
definition. Tecno even claims the Camon C8 shoots better
pictures than the iPhone.

camon c8 review

Below are some interesting features of the Tecno
Camon C8 according to the pre-release info made
available to me.

Camera lens imitates the human eyes

Remember how you can, in fraction of a second,
narrow your focus on those tiny grains of sand while
picking your brown beans for cooking? The human
eyes can quickly focus on an object and that is
because they use a mixture of contrast and phase
detection.

The camera of this phone has phase detection auto
focus much like the human eyes which allows it to
focus more accurately and faster on an image than
plain contrast phase detection on most smart phone
cameras.

Cameras can take pictures in low-light

The power of this phone’s state-of-the-art LED flash
together with its industry leading noise reducing
13MP Auto Focus Back camera tips the scale in image
quality towards the better than the best region of
things. This smart phone will create amazing pictures
no matter the lighting conditions of the environment- dawn, evening, twilight, the nightclub, pubs, lounges
or beach it doesn’t matter, just take your pictures.

VisidonTM Face beautification effect

How can I take a self portrait without my face
blemishes? For a start, take the portrait with the
5.0MP Front camera on Tecno’s new smart phone
with Visidon face recognition technology that can
“repair” your face using natural color face
beautification. With just a click of the camera button, this smart phone will give you a facelift.

Take pictures on Black screen

This smart phone gives you the power to focus your
camera on the action while screen is on standby
mode and still capture the moment. Double tap the
special camera button by the phone’s side and the
camera is ready to capture!

Check out the Camera of the Tecno C8 that will be coming soon!

Google Will Soon Bring Metal-Like, Low-Overhead Graphics API To Android

Google Will Soon Bring Metal-Like, Low-Overhead Graphics API To Android

Google today announced that it will soon support the Khronos Group’s Vulkan graphics API on Android.

The goal of Vulkan is very similar to that of Apple’s Metal API for iOS and OS X. Vulkan is a low-overhead graphics API that gives developers more direct access to the graphics processor and control over how their graphics are rendered.

In today’s announcement, Google argues that current APIs are “not designed for multi-threaded use, requiring synchronization with locks around calls that could be more efficiently done in parallel.”

The Vulkan API is being developed and maintained by the Khronos Group — the organization behind OpenGL,WebGL and similar standards. Indeed, Vulkan is essentially the next generation of OpenGL. The Khronos group first announced Vulkan in March, together with a range of software and hardware partners. But the API needs support from the operating system, too, and at the time, Google wasn’t yet on board.

“Hardware and software companies need an open 3D API to maximize market reach and minimize porting costs, and Vulkan is being forged by a broad consortium of industry leaders to do exactly that,” said Neil Trevett, president of the Khronos Group. “Vulkan’s adoption and availability on platforms such as Android, Windows, Linux and SteamOS will ensure strong developer support – creating a wealth of high-quality content and applications for any platform that leverages this royalty-free standard.”

The standard is still a work in progress, though. Chances are it won’t be part of Google’s Android M operating system when it launches later this year, but companies like Imagination Technologies (the company behind the PowerVR GPUs) are already demoing Vulkan’s power on Android today (using a prototype driver).

Google supports the OpenGL ES standard on Android, and the company says it will continue to do so. OpenGL ES will likely remain easier to use for developers for the time being, but Vulkan will give them more control.

“We’re committed to providing an excellent developer experience, no matter which API you choose,” Google technical program manager Shannon Woods says in today’s announcement.
Apple Addresses Bendgate Complaints With Sturdier iPhone 6s Shell

Apple Addresses Bendgate Complaints With Sturdier iPhone 6s Shell

Supply chain leaks have indicated that Apple is working on an iPhone 6s, and details of the new device have been surfacing one at a time for the past few weeks. Unbox Therapy has obtained the rear casing of the 6s and meticulously compared it to the iPhone 6. Apple is reinforcing some weak points with this year’s new iteration, and the company is also switching to lighter, stronger aluminum.

With every “S” iPhone, Apple has tried to improve and iterate on its fabrication process. Today’s leak is a great example of that.

Apple has made the casing of the iPhone 6s thicker on each side, near the volume and power buttons. Unbox Therapy measured 1.9mm on the iPhone 6s versus 1.14mm on the iPhone 6. By improving the resistance of this weak point, the overall body should be less susceptible to bending.

In addition to this welcome change, the shell is 2 grams lighter than the iPhone 6 shell. It may indicate that Apple is using a new material, confirming earlier rumors. Apple now uses 7000 series aluminum, which is both stronger and lighter. The only disadvantage is that it can be a bit more expensive, but Apple has already been using 7000 series aluminium with the Apple Watch Sport.

“The changes Unbox Therapy is showing are perfectly logical adaptations for Apple to have addressed the Bendgate situation. Clearly, adding more material around those known stress points (at the home and volume buttons) is going to improve the overall strength,” Luma Labs co-founder and industrial designer Greg Koenig told TechCrunch. “The combination of this material addition plus the rumored switch to 7000 series aluminum (which has roughly 3x the yield strength of 6061) should make the iPhone 6s one of the least bendy smartphones ever made.”

When it comes to the price difference between 7000 series aluminum and 6000 series aluminum, Apple has a few tricks up its sleeve.

“Apple is buying entire smelting runs of aluminum at a time, so the cost difference for them is virtually nothing,” Koenig said. “7000 even machines a touch faster than 6000 series, but finishing and anodizing 7000 series is quite challenging. My guess is that Apple climbed the learning curve on how to process 7000 series aluminum parts with the Watch project, and is now leveraging that knowledge to improve the iPhone.”

As a reminder, some iPhone 6 Plus owners have complained that they had a bent iPhone after a few weeks of usage. It’s still unclear whether the iPhone 6 is more fragile than other phones — Apple has stated that it had received very few complaints for bent phones.

But Apple’s end goal is clear. It should always try to build better phones that tend to last longer. It improves customer satisfaction and makes iPhone owners want to buy another iPhone when it’s time to upgrade.

Apple is expected to announce the new iPhone 6s on September 9th. It could come with a faster A9 processor, a better camera sensor and force touch.
